A Busy Week

After Quinn’s school picnic, and Madeleine’s graduation, we had Madeleine’s school picnic last Friday. It was quite chilly out, but the kids didn’t care. They played at the park for 2 hours! And Madeleine was quite excited to show off her daddy to her friends, he took the day off to join us at the picnic.

Preschool Graduation

Well, Madeleine graduated from Preschool last week. She is already missing school, and keeps asking me if tomorrow is a school day. She’s pretty sentimental, my Madeleine, and I think she will miss the friends she made this year.

At Graduation, they sang a couple of songs, sang their closing song “Goodbye Friends” one more time, and got their certificate.

Next year – Kindergarten. That ought to be an adventure for my little angel!

Quinn’s School Picnic

Quinn had his school picnic last Wednesday. It was a little chilly out, but Quinn’s favorite part was the water table. They had a popcorn machine, and sno-cones. Pizza and snacks. Quinn was also having a really good time on the inflatable jumper! I think Quinn will be missing his teachers and friends over the summer. He will be very excited when it is time to go to school next fall!

Just hanging out

I’ve really been wanting to do a post, but nothing exciting has been happening here! This first picture is what happens when Quinn plays quietly – by himself – for an
hour. You know you will have a price to pay for peace and quiet! The rest of the pictures are the kids just hanging out over the weekend.

Mother’s Day

Well, another Mother’s Day has come and gone. I hope all you moms out there had a wonderful day.

We skipped Sunday school to have a nice breakfast. My boys made me pancakes, and Josh did all the flipping. He was quite proud of himself. My children were actually mad at me for getting out of bed – they had wanted to serve me breakfast in bed. Imagine that, I actually got out of bed when I didn’t have to. The boys also cleaned up after breakfast, which was especially nice. I got some very nice gifts too.

Then off to grocery shopping, and the electricity went out. It was out all day, which made it very hard to cook noodles for pasta salad. So we packed up early and headed out to Grandpa and Nana’s. Things were a bit loud there, as it always is when we all get together. But I think the kids had a good time, and I enjoyed spending the afternoon with all of my family.

Hope your day was as good as mine. It sure is nice to hear I love you so many times in one day.

In Rememberence – Katherine Baxa

Maybe it was also because I knew it was planted by the Sunday school in memory of mom and the next day was Mother’s Day.

So I went and got my camera and took a picture of the tree. It made me stop and think of mom and it seems so right that it is at its most beautiful on Mother’s Day.

My Mom

Madeleine finished a fill-in-the-blank project at school for Mother’s day. Here are her responses.

My mom is 89 years old.

My mom is prettiest when she wears a dress. (To my knowledge, I have not worn a dress since Madeleine has been born)

My mom likes to make stinky cheese & noodles.

My mom always says no.

My mom is funny when she yells at Josh.

Do I really look like I’m 89 years old??!!
